First Care Optical handles personal and clinical data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We collect only the information needed to deliver care and to support NHS billing where applicable.

We do not sell or share patient data with third parties for marketing purposes.

For a copy of the data we hold about you, or to request correction or deletion, please contact us. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Cookies on this website: Some cookies are essential so the site works securely. Analytics cookies are optional. Google Analytics loads on every visit, but analytics cookies are only set if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, we do not set analytics cookies.

Google Analytics and consent mode: We use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode. If you reject analytics cookies, Google may still receive limited, cookieless information (for example which pages were viewed or that a phone link was clicked) so we can understand overall use of the site. Google may use modelling to estimate visits and conversions when cookies are not used. If you accept, we also set analytics cookies with a random ID for fuller measurement.

What Google Analytics records: Pages visited, general device and browser type, and when someone clicks a phone, email or booking link or sends a form. It does not record what you type into a form. Google processes this data, including IP addresses, on our behalf. Google's privacy information is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Changing your cookie choice: Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page to show the banner again and accept or reject analytics cookies. Your choice is remembered in your browser until you clear site data or change it via Cookie settings.

Booking enquiries: When you use our “Arrange a home eye test” form, we collect who the test is for, whether the patient can leave home unaccompanied, postcode, your name, phone number, and optional preferred contact time. We use this information only to contact you and arrange an appointment. We do not use it for marketing.
