Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often from patients, families and care home managers.

All questions

Who is eligible for an NHS home eye test?

You may qualify if you are unable to leave home unaccompanied because of a physical or mental illness or disability. We confirm eligibility on your behalf before any visit.

How much does a home eye test cost?

There is no charge for an NHS home eye test if the patient qualifies. Private home eye tests are quoted transparently before booking.

How long does the visit take?

Most home eye tests take 40–60 minutes. We allow extra time for patients living with dementia, low vision or complex communication needs.

Do you cover my postcode?

We cover Coventry, Birmingham, Solihull, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton, Northampton, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the wider Midlands. UK-wide care home contracts are available on request.

Can you supply glasses at home?

Yes. We bring a frame range to the patient, glaze the chosen prescription, then return to fit and adjust the finished glasses in person.

Do you work with care homes?

Yes — we run scheduled clinical rounds at care homes across the Midlands, handle NHS paperwork on the home's behalf, and supply glasses on-site.
