A home eye test from First Care Optical is the same standard of clinical care you would receive in any modern practice — only delivered in your living room, bedroom, or care home lounge. We carry handheld autorefractors, retinal imaging, and a full trial lens set.
NHS-funded home eye tests are available for anyone who is unable to leave home unaccompanied due to physical or mental illness or disability. We handle the paperwork, the eligibility check, and arrange any glasses supply if needed.
Most appointments take 40–60 minutes. We schedule visits at a time that suits the patient, with extra time built in for those living with dementia, low vision, or other complex needs.
