How a home eye test helps
A home eye test from First Care Optical includes the clinical checks needed to detect and monitor low vision. We use portable diagnostic equipment and adapt the examination to patients with mobility, cognitive or communication needs.
Results are explained in plain English on the day, with a written summary left for the patient and shared with their GP when helpful. If you care for someone who finds travel difficult, booking a domiciliary visit can be simpler than arranging transport to a high-street practice.
If updated glasses are part of your plan, we can arrange glasses supplied and fitted at home after a sight test, with NHS optical vouchers accepted where eligible.
