Cataracts
Cataracts are a clouding of the eye's natural lens. They develop slowly and are almost always treatable.
Common symptoms
- Gradual blurring or hazing of vision
- Difficulty driving at night
- Colours appearing washed out
- Increased glare from bright lights
When to seek help
If vision changes significantly between annual tests, book a sight test sooner. Cataracts referred to NHS surgery have very high success rates.
How a home eye test helps
A home eye test from First Care Optical includes the clinical checks needed to detect and monitor cataracts. We use portable diagnostic equipment and adapt the examination to patients with mobility, cognitive or communication needs.
