UK-Wide Home Eye Test Services

First Care Optical provides UK-wide home eye test services by arrangement, supporting patients and organisations outside our core Midlands service area.

As a Coventry-based domiciliary optometry service, our primary focus remains delivering NHS-funded home eye tests, and private home eye tests across the Midlands. However, we are able to support UK-wide requests where appropriate, particularly for organisations, care home providers, and specialist requirements.

When UK-Wide Home Eye Test Services May Be Suitable

UK-wide home eye test services may be suitable where:

  • An organisation operates across multiple regions

  • A care provider requires a consistent service approach

  • A specialist or one-off domiciliary assessment is required

  • Travel or relocation makes local provision difficult

Availability is assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure appropriate care delivery.

NHS and Private Home Eye Tests Outside the Midlands

NHS-funded home eye tests are subject to local NHS arrangements and eligibility, which may vary by region.

Where NHS provision is not available, private home eye tests may be offered outside the Midlands by arrangement, depending on location and requirements.

What to Expect From a Home Eye Test

During a home visit, our optometrist brings all the necessary equipment to carry out a comprehensive eye examination in the comfort of your home. This includes:

Vision and eye health checks

Assessment of current glasses or prescriptions

Advice on eye health and visual needs

Frame and lens selection, if required

Following the examination, prescription glasses can be ordered and delivered directly to your home.
