Home Eye Tests Across the Midlands

First Care Optical is a Coventry-based domiciliary optometry service providing NHS-funded and private home eye tests for patients who are unable to attend a high-street optician.

We primarily serve patients across the Midlands, supporting individuals in private homes, care homes, and supported living settings. Our service is designed for those with mobility difficulties, health conditions, or care needs that make travelling challenging.

NHS and Private Home Eye Tests in the Midlands

Eligible patients may qualify for free NHS-funded home eye tests, including those aged over 60, individuals with mobility difficulties, and people with certain medical conditions or disabilities.

We also offer private home eye tests for patients who do not meet NHS criteria but would still benefit from receiving eye care at home.

What to Expect From a Home Eye Test

During a home visit, our optometrist brings all the necessary equipment to carry out a comprehensive eye examination in the comfort of your home. This includes:

Vision and eye health checks

Assessment of current glasses or prescriptions

Advice on eye health and visual needs

Frame and lens selection, if required

Following the examination, prescription glasses can be ordered and delivered directly to your home.

Home Eye Tests for Carehomes and Organisations

We regularly support care homes, supported living providers, and organisations across the Midlands by delivering coordinated home eye care services for residents.

This includes managing multiple appointments, liaising with staff and families, and ensuring continuity of care for residents who may not be able to attend external appointments.

UK-Wide Home Eye Care Services

While our primary focus is serving patients across the Midlands, UK-wide home eye care services are available by arrangement for care providers and organisations requiring consistent domiciliary optometry support across multiple locations.
