NHS optical vouchers explained
NHS optical vouchers help patients on certain benefits or with specific eligibility statuses pay for glasses. The voucher applies towards the cost of the glasses chosen.
Voucher eligibility is set nationally by the NHS. Common qualifying conditions include receiving certain means-tested benefits, being under 16, or being a full-time student under 19.
After your home eye test, if glasses are needed and you are eligible for a voucher, we record the voucher type and apply its value when you choose your frames.
Any difference between the voucher value and the final price of the chosen glasses is quoted clearly upfront. There are no hidden charges.
